Tina's in Japan? Holy crap.
I dunno, I think it's a geek thing, since Japan is sort of a geek paradise.

I don't know why, but yeah a lot of people seem to have moved to Japan. I can think of a few others who went there for a short time and were in our class. Sugu even told me to come, but I don't think so.

Actually we do seem to have quite a few expats-- not just the Japan-based ones. It would be interesting to find out how the expats ended up abroad. Job, school, spouse?
In my case, I'm abroad because of a spouse (I live in Austria-- my husband's Austrian.)

but el, i don't quite recognize your handle, but you're in austria? You would think this would be the one message board on the planet where people might want to identify by their real names, but NOOOOO... Carry on...

OK, I saw my name so I am going to jump in. I was in Japan for 3 years and LOVED it. Tim you should go! I lived in Japan because my husband is in the Navy and we were stationed there. We are now in middle of nowhere Nevada (no not Nevada, Iowa the real Nevada) We would both go back to Japan in an instant if given the choice. We were living just outside of Tokyo for those that don't know Japan. For those that do, we were living very close to Yokohama in Ayase city. Even though we didn't have the choice to move to Japan (Military orders) I would have to say that living there was very refreshing. You don't know how warped your view of the world is until you are out of the US. I am very much a better person for the experience.
