Hi. I just moved down to Houston Texas where I will be teaching third grade. I taught third grade in Dubuque Iowa before this. I am looking forward to it, but I am also hesitant because I have a three month old that I will be putting in daycare for the first time...yes, I am getting old. We moved down here because my husband of four years got a job flying with Express Jet, a company that flies for Continental. I wonder if the air traffic controller has ever come into contact with him!

I'm the second poster here who lives in German-speaking Europe.
I am a stay-at-home mom to my toddler son. I have been living in Vienna, Austria for 3 1/2 years now (my husband's Austrian.) Before I went out on my maternity leave, I worked in a kindergarten (like American preschool) teaching English to kids ages 2-6.

I'm a drug dealer in Waterloo, IA. Actually, I really am. I'm a pharmaceutical sales rep and I pretty much have the NE quarter of Iowa for a territory. I love my job! Would rather be based in Des Moines, but I'm slowly starting to feel at home here.

I actually got a new job last week. I'll be the manager of a cell phone kiosk that runs out of Costco on the NE side of Indianapolis. After salary, comission and bonuses, I could be making upwards of $32,000 a year.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeet.

I do 2nd level network support/maintainence for a, erm, "communications company" in Des Moines (they're picky about employees saying who they work for). Let's just say that if you have cable tv then you've dealt with my employer. Most of my work focuses on the internet side and I usually have to get things rolling when there's an interruption in service. I also do some stuff pertaining to cracking down on copyright infringement and whatnot. It sounds a lot more interesting than it actually is, but it does give me plenty of downtime so I can polish off a book or two per week.

Sorry DrJohnny Fever-- but I gotta correct you. Kindergarten in the US and in Europe are two entirely different things. Kindergarten as we all knew it was our first year in school when we were 5-6 years old. The type of kindergarten I was referring to is like American preschool. Kids are between the ages of 2 and 6 (school starts at age 6 here) and it's not part of a school.

So I guess I am a little late finding this site......BUT I am at work and bored out of my mind, so thought I would entertain you all. I am a Marketing Director for an Assisted Living in MPLS. Great job and pay, but my boss is a total witch. I mean it, she is a psycho.

I work as a Creative Editor/Producer/Director at an advertising agency in Kansas City. I've been here for about 15 months and I love it. Before that, I was a Commercial Editor/Producer at the CBS affiliate in KC.

I am a software engineer down in KC, MO. I sit in a cubicle and I update bank software for the Y2K switch. They wrote all this bank software and to save space, they used two digits instead of four. So 98 instead of 1998? So I go through these thousands of lines of code... But seriously... I really am a software engineer, and I work for Cerner Corporation ( www.cerner.com) in Kansas City, MO. Cerner makes IT software for the health care industry. I am enjoying it for now, but I'm sure I won't be here forever.

I'm working for a company that makes the special features for DVDs. I'm totally psyched because I just started on a project that involves Harrison Ford, so I'm thinking I'm gonna get to be in on an interview with him!
